LawDocsXpress, a privately held Georgia corporation, was founded on January 1, 2002 by Catherine Massey. She had enivisioned a “virtual legal secretarial service” since the early 1990s. But it was the advent of commercially available SSL encryption and greater conflict with virtual document security that enabled the start of LawDocsXpress.
Catherine's background in traditional legal staffing and Internet technology led to creation of a unique method of delivering legal support services through a virtual network, which resulted in LawDocsXpress' patent application. By every measure, LawDocsXpress was on the leading edge of Internet-based legal process outsourcing (LPO), particularly given its steadfast commitment to using only U.S. labor.
LawDocsXpress achieved major milestones soon after its inception. The company was selected as the first “Woman Launch” company by Women in Technology in 2002, and went on to profitable after only 18 months.
LawDocsXpress has continued to expand, winning national oursourcing contracts from prominent firms such as Holland & Knight, as well as various business and technology awards. In 2005, LawDocsXpress became the inaugural recipient of the Technology Association of Georgia's Excalibur Award, recognizing the best use of technology to solve business problems. LawDocsXpress also was named one of Atlanta's fastest-growing women-owned firms by Atlanta Business Chronicle in 2006.
Today, LawDocsXpress is widely recognized as the industry leader in providing dedicated teams of U.S. legal support professionals serving the most U.S. law firms, corporate counsel and government entities nationwide using a virtual network of U.S. based talent.
LawDocsXpress is certified as a 100% Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) in the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) registry and in the U.S. Federal Government's new System for Award Management (SAM).
